At the past Friday , I’ve got a message knocking both my mind and my heart. A Khatib has remind me that a technocrat is so easy to slip away from his/her aqidah. The Khatib has told a story about Samiri, a smart-man live in same period with Moses the God messenger.
In the story, Moses had an instruction by God to received Taurat on Sina Hill. In fulfilling the duty, he instructed his brother Harun, the another God messenger, to take over his position as the leader of Bani Israil. He promised to his people that he would back in 30 days, but then he was late for 10 days. It was disappointing Bani Israil. Then Samiri made a female cow statue. It’s an amazing statue at the period because it could produce a sound. Samiri agitated people to worship it, and he was successful.
Samiri was very proud about his work. By his hand, he can make everything but he don’t realize that his knowledge had come from God The Greatest. Many technocrats are forgetting about source of their knowledge. Even we forgot that our hands we use to make everything or innovation are nothing without God’s power. I am one of that slipping technocrats. Oh God, please forgive my arrogance to you…
